August 13th, 2009 by David Weiss
Les Paul, one of the most prominent inventors in musical instruments and pro audio, has died at the age of 94.
Gibson Guitar says that Paul passed away from complications from pneumonia while at White Plains Hospital.
Paul is credited with pioneering advances in the fields of modern multitrack recording, as well as in the development of the electric guitar.
He was also a cornerstone of the NYC musical community well into his ’90’s, and will be widely missed.
