littleBits Partners with Korg To Release “Synth Kit” — Snap-Together Analog Modules
littleBits has announced their Synth Kit made in collaboration with the one and only Korg. The company littleBits is all about creating open source synth modules that snap together via magnet connections with no need for soldering or internal programming.
The Synth Kit comes packaged with 12 modules needed to create a functional synth that is capable of quite a bit of arrangement options making it ideal for novice and professional skill levels alike. littleBits currently has 45 total modules with more being added “all of the time.”
The Synth Kit is available for preorder now for $159 MSRP with availability on December 6th, 2013.
Here are more details from littleBits:
From the Beatles to Björk, legendary artists have used analog synthesizers to produce complex sounds and innovative music. For the first time ever, the littleBits Synth Kit will enable anyone to build their own sound machines with little to no engineering or musical knowledge. Included is a handy 35+ page booklet, with step-by-step instructions for 10 great projects like the Keytar and Synth Spin Table.
