Live+Sound+Cinema Event, Midnight, July 4th: Nitehawk Cinema in Brooklyn – “Metropolis”
After a night of fireworks, head on over to Nitehawk Cinema in Brooklyn for a screening of Metropolis (aka Metoraporisu) a live sound cinema event featuring a live score from Party Supplies.
The cult Japanese anime film was inspired by Fritz Lang’s 1927 Metropolis and it blends the original story with a robotic futuristic twist. The anime was directed by Rintario, written by Katsuhiro Otomo with music by Toshiyuki Honda and animation by Tezuka Productions.
Nitehawk Cinema is located on 136 Metropolitan and is widely acclaimed due its’ unique film selection and themed food service you can enjoy right at your seat.
Party Supplies is an up-and-coming Brooklyn band comprised of producer Julian Nealis (Action Bronson) and multi-instrumentalist Sean Mann. Together they are sure to bring the best of their own retro-future sound to Metoraporisu. Look for their new EP out on Fool’s Gold Records soon!
