MCDSP Updates AAX Public Beta for PT 10 Users
Life keeps getting a little better for Pro Tools 10 users — proof positive is the expanding MCDSP AAX Public Beta.

Visitors to this agile plugin developer’s Facebook page can pick up a new set of installers. A whole host of new features have been put into the package, including:

• 64-bit audio path
• Real-time control smoothing
• Operation above 0dB
• DSP chip sharing — with McDSP & non-McDSP plug-ins
MCDSP’s HD v5 plug-ins have been configured to take advantage of the large amounts of processing power within the new Avid HDX hardware. According to MCDSP, HDX owners will see “incredible” gains in headroom and efficiency, while Native users will see improvements with the latest multi-core processors.
The first batch of AAX DSP & Native plug-ins include:
• Analog Channel
• CompressorBank
• FilterBank
• 6030 Ultimate Compressor
• 4020 Retro EQ
• 4030 Retro Compressor
• 4040 Retro Limiter
Anyone with a v5 license of any of the above listed plug-ins listed can join the public beta. Mac OS X 10.7.3 or later, or Windows 7, and Pro Tools 10.2 are required.
