Mix Breakdown: Fleetwood Mac “Dreams” [Remasters Compared!]

There are a few things that make this track really stand out from a production perspective, and one of them is its absolutely brilliant use of reverb:

Big, rich, long, the reverb in this track creates an amazing sense of space without ever drawing attention to itself.

There’s no question that Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours is one of the most enduring albums of its era.

But why? What does the mix and the production get right? And why do producers still use it as a sonic touchstone to this day?
