Mix With the Masters Announces Al Schmitt Seminar – Sept. 29 – Oct. 5
Another master is back for Mix with the Masters.
Al Schmitt is the latest to return to the MWTM fold. The iconic engineer/producer is responsible for 23 GRAMMY Awards, 150+ Gold/Platinum albums, and decades working with Jefferson Airplane, Neil Young, Ray Charles, Diana Krall, Paul McCartney, Frank Sinatra, Henry Mancini or Toto.
Scnmitt will bring his unparalleled positivity and deep expertise to the residential Studio La Fabrique in the South of France, from September 29 to October 5th. Joining Schmitt will be engineer Steve Genewick, who will share his 20 years of experience working at Capitol Studios, plus discuss his long standing collaboration with Al Schmitt.
A native of New York City, Schmitt’s engineering career took off in Los Angeles, where he became an independent producer in 1966. In addition to the aforementioned, his credits also include the likes of Steely Dan, Quincy Jones, Norah Jones, Chick Corea and many more.
Only fifteen selected participants will be chosen to attend. Schmitt will also comment on the attendees’ personal work, and give career advice. Those interested can begin the application process here.
