Music Works NYC Launches Voice-Over Division, Hosts Beijing’s Viva Girls

Music Works NYC, a boutique recording studio on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, marks its second year in business with the launch of a voice-over division.

The opening of the new division was celebrated with a launch party featuring distinguished vocal coach Professor William Riley (Celine Dion, Bill Clinton, Liza Minnelli, Whitney Houston).

First voice-over projects include How I Met Your Mother star, Neil Patrick Harris for an upcoming TV special, and tennis legend John McEnroe, who recorded voice-overs for the Tennis Channel’s documentary, Signature Series: Rod Laver.

Owned by founding Groove Collective member and percussionist, Chris Theberge, Music Works NYC studios also plays host to recording artists from all over the world. Recently, the studio hosted Beijing’s The Viva Girls, a 12-piece girl band that fuses modern sounds with traditional Chinese music. The sessions were captured on this short video segment.

Master percussionist Giovanni Hidalgo has also been recording a new solo album at Music Works – where he says he has “found my true sound”. New artist clients include SONY/ATV songwriter Frankie Storm (Rihanna “Please Don’t Stop the Music”), singer Ashley Ring (Cash Money/Universal), EMI Publishing artists Ivory and Producer Calvo Da Gr8 as well as other artists managed by the WOW music group.
