New Audio Gear Alert: Edge Note from Antelope, Oberheim’s OB-X8 Analog Synth, Rift 2 by Minimal Audio & More

Antelope Audio introduces the newest member of the Edge microphone family: the Edge Note.

Antelope furthers their popular Edge series mics with the new Edge Note.

Although small in stature, the Edge Note is an impressive small diaphragm condenser that offers 13 emulations of classic studio mics. With exceptional sound capture performance, it’s suitable for a wide range of instruments and scenarios. The pad attenuation and high-
pass filter add additional options for instrumentalists, recording engineers, and studio owners looking for a high-quality, affordable workhorse.

Thanks to its back-electret capsule and a signal-to-noise ratio of 69dB, the mic cleanly captures even the smallest details across the frequency range. The transparent input allows recordings to be easily molded in post-production to suit the requirements of any mix. In addition, the mic emulations sound as close to the original classics as possible.

Boasting an SPL of 146dB before attenuation, the Edge Note is an excellent choice for recording even the loudest sources. For particularly demanding scenarios, the attenuation pad can reduce the level with -10 or -20dB. Additionally, the high-pass filter facilitates the handling of the low-end frequencies and negative aspects of the proximity effect.

JBL debuts the VTX A6 subcompact dual 6.5-inch passive line array element and the VTX B15 compact 15-inch subwoofer.

JBL offers a strong solution for smaller-format live sound applications with the new VTX models.

The A6 and B15 bring JBL’s top acoustic technologies to compact form factors for small- to medium-size touring and fixed installations, providing versatile solutions for production companies, touring acts, rental houses, theaters, houses of worship and anyone who requires superior sonic performance in space-critical applications.

The A6 6.5-inch passive two-way line array element is engineered from the ground up for stunning sonic performance and ease of integration and deployment, as a standalone system or as a supplement to larger VTX systems. It houses two custom 6.5-inch woofers and a 3-inch annular-diaphragm compression driver and features acoustic innovations pioneered in JBL’s VTX line, including JBL’s patented Radiation Boundary Integrator (RBI) and Differential Drive dual-voicecoil, dual-magnet woofer.

Extend the low-end range of VTX full-range systems with the VTX B15 15-inch subwoofer. The B15 features acoustic advancements such as SlipStream double-flared exponential ports and Differential Drive dual-voicecoil design and is based on JBL’s new 2285H 15-inch woofer, which is engineered for linearity, efficiency and excursion that rival 18-inch models.
