New David Bowie Album Produced at The Magic Shop
David Bowie announced today he will release a new record in March – his first studio album in a decade!
The album – The Next Day – has been in production over the last two years at the Magic Shop Recording Studios in SoHo.
The record was produced and mixed by longtime Bowie collaborator Tony Visconti, and engineered by Mario McNulty and Magic Shop engineer Brian Thorn. Visconti is the producer of such Bowie classics as Space Oddity and The Man Who Sold The World as well as his most recent albums, Heathen and Reality.
Kabir Hermon was the project manager at the Magic Shop, and was responsible for keeping things running smoothly and quietly.
Says Magic Shop owner Steve Rosenthal of the epic session: “I guess it’s true, ‘If you build it, he will come.'”
