New Gear Alert: BritStrip by Heritage Audio, Vox Impulse Responses from Celestion, Genelec GLM 4 Upgrade & More

Heritage Audio announces the BritStrip console channel strip.

The BritStrip from Heritage Audio offers full 73 channel strip tonality, all in a single rack unit.

The Heritage Audio BritStrip is the culmination of 50 years of analog design in a single rack unit. BritStrip nails the sound of yesterday’s iconic recordings for today’s demanding engineers.

The BritStrip combines a real-deal 73 mic preamplifier, an expanded 73 equalizer, a discrete Class-A DI, and the infamous diode bridge compressor from the Heritage Audio Successor. The closest equivalent of the BritStrip would be chaining together a 73JR, 73EQJR and mono Successor—a $3000 value pack in itself, with added routing flexibility.

The BritStrip also allows for compression and equalizer routing. EQ’ing pre-compression makes the compression detector more sensitive to the boosted frequencies and less sensitive to those cut. Inversely, EQ’ing post-compression makes the detector insensitive to the EQ settings.

The BritStrip is available now, priced at $2,499.

Celestion and Vox team up to deliver the classic sound of Vox in Two Notes format.

The new Vox Two Notes Impulse Responses capture the distinctive tones of Vox cabs loaded with legendary Celestion speakers using the unique Two notes IR recording method. The cabinets include: Vox V212C 2×12 open back containing two Celestion G12M Greenbacks; Vox 212 HWX 2×12 open back containing two Celestion Blues; Vox V412BN 4×12 closed back containing four Celestion G12M Greenbacks.

Each Vox Two Notes cabinet impulse response has been recorded with eight microphones using the exclusive Two notes DynIR recording protocol, allowing the end user the virtual freedom to move the microphones around the recording space and to use the Overload Parameter (available in the Wall of Sound software and Torpedo Studio hardware) to push the speakers into distortion if desired, for an almost limitless number of tone options.

The Vox Impulse Response Two Notes Collection is available now, priced at $25 for the collection, or $10 individually.

SampleScience releases 606 Koncept, a free TR-606 drum module for Windows.

606 Koncept features the original 606 Drum Kit, multiple LFOs, room reverb, high-pass and low-pass filters, amplitude range controls, and three voice modes: Polyphonic, Monophonic, and Legato.

This plugin also offers multi-pitch sum mixers for each drum sound. The multi-pitch sum mixer concept is simple: click on a pitch button and it will be added to the others. It’s great to quickly create thicker sounds or to keep the transient sharp for lower-pitched tones.

Check out a demo video of 606 Koncept here.

606 Koncept is free, and available as a 64-bit VST plugin for Windows 8.1/10 only.
