Eventide releases the Instant Flanger Mk II plugin.

Eventide is now offering the authentic sound of their renowned Instant Flanger hardware unit via plugin—with some exciting modern twists.

The Instant Flanger Mk II plugin perfectly emulates the iconic sounds of Eventide’s original Instant Flanger hardware released in 1975, and is available with added creative features and functionality for use in all of the most popular DAWs.

Instant Flanger Mk II can turn flat mono guitars into huge stereo leads, or have your single channel synthesizer fill out the sides of your mix with pseudo stereo. The Instant Flanger Mk II has dual outputs that create three different sonic images: “Shallow”, “Deep”, and “Wide”. Combining “Wide” Mode with the “Low Cut” control is an easy way to place multiple harmonies behind the lead. Fine-tune the resonance of your flanging effect by using the “Depth” and “Feedback” controls.

Sonarworks unveils the Referencer pedal.

Sonarworks announces their first foray into the world of hardware with the new Referencer guitar amp calibration pedal.

Referencer is Sonarworks’ debut hardware device. The new guitar pedal—which comes in a sturdy metal housing with a big blue light, switch, and four shiny black knobs—leverages an electric guitar’s built-in pickups as microphones, then using advanced AF (augmented feedback) technology, automatically calibrates the guitarist’s amplifier to their current position.

By placing the Sonarworks Referencer at the end of any pedal chain, guitarists can dial in their tone from wherever they are, using a combination of four knobs: Gain, Bass Boost, Dry/Wet, Tilt and Calibration.

Check out an introductory video to the Referencer pedal here.

Pricing for Sonarworks Referencer is not yet available.
