New Gear Alert: Innovative New “Fission” Plug-In from Eventide, Hot-British Tones from Radial, New Efficiencies from Waves & More
Eventide announces Fission, a new plug-in capable of separating transients from tonal components.
Eventide unveils its Structural Effects technology for the first time to employ a patent-pending technique for cleanly and completely separating the transient and tonal components of any sound.
Structural Effects separates sound into its transient (impact/unpredictable/jagged) and tonal (sustaining/stable/smooth) parts more effectively and accurately than previous processes. Fission features individual multi-effects in its Transient Effects and Tonal Effects sections to give users full control over both parts of the sound.
Fission is available now (as an AU/AAX/VST plug-in for Mac OS 10.7+ and Windows 7/8) at an introductory price of $97.00 USD — rising to an MSRP of $179.00 USD 45 days after its February 27th release.
Radial Engineering Ltd. is pleased to announce the Hot-British V9™ is now shipping.
The Hot-British V9™ is an updated version of the popular Hot-British™ tube distortion pedal. Beginning with Radial’s Class-A buffering circuit, the Hot-British V9™ retains the natural feel and responsiveness of the guitar, while also allowing it to drive multiple pedals and longer cable runs with ease. Once engaged, three tone-shaping stages provide a high degree of control over the resulting sound, from subtle tube saturation textures to screaming over-the-top distortion.
The Drive control sets the input level and the amount of distortion, while a Contour knob changes the character of the distortion itself. A two-band EQ section after the distortion circuit allows you to tailor the tone to match your guitar and amp, along with a level control for the overall output of the pedal. There is also a 3-position Mid Boost to help cut through when soloing, and a Top End switch that can brighten or darken high frequencies.
Hot-British V9™ is available now for $169.99 USD.
Waves introduces the Dugan Automixer + Dugan Speech bundle.
Any live or broadcast engineer is familiar with the challenging situation of having to mix multiple channels of speech mics. These Dugan plug-ins save users the tedious need to manually ride faders while trying to keep up with several people talking at once.
With the Dugan Speech plug-in, the Dugan Automixer interface is conveniently incorporated into a designated layer mode within the eMotion LV1 mixing console, which you can easily access from any LV1 channel. If you have a non-LV1 console, you can use it together with the Dugan Automixer plug-in via the Waves MultiRack plug-in host.
These Dugan plug-ins control the levels of multiple microphones automatically and in real time, dramatically reducing noise, feedback and comb filtering from adjacent microphones. The Dugan plug-ins ensure that system gain remains consistent, even when several speakers are talking at the same time. They make perfectly matched crossfades, without any signal compression whatsoever, and without a noise gate that would cause undesirable artifacts.
The Dugan Automixer + Dugan Speech bundle is available for $599.00 USD.
Blue Cat Audio releases PatchWork 2.0 software.
A few weeks ago, SonicScoop covered the MB-7 Mixer plug-in that Blue Cat released at NAMM 2017. Accompanying the release of MB-7 was also PatchWork 2.0, the next generation of Blue Cat’s virtual patchbay.
With brand new user interface designs, dozens of new features, improved third party plug-ins support and audio routing, the new version of PatchWork aims to redefine the user experience and streamline the workflow.
Some new features for Patchwork 2.0 include the ability to lock GUI state and In/Out gain to prevent changes when loading presets, along with output gain now being capable of always being active (even when using a single PRE column), and exclusive solo mode is now available for parallel chains. Users can also show or hide all plug-in editors with a single click, and finally, as a standalone application, Patchwork 2.0 allows users to drag and drop preset files to load presets instantly on startup (and create shortcuts to launch the app with a specific preset).
PatchWork is available for €71 or $89.00 USD, instead of €79 or $99.00 USD (10% off until March 15th).
KV331 Audio is proud to announce availability of SynthMaster One — a wavetable soft synth with an intuitive workflow.
Available in AU and VST formats for Mac OS X and Windows, SynthMaster One shares the same sound engine as its award-winning big brother, SynthMaster, but boosts it with wavetable synthesis features.
In implementing true wavetable synthesis, SynthMaster One opens up new possibilities for sound design. Unlike SynthMaster, where only up to 16 waveforms can be sequenced to create a wavetable, SynthMaster One can read files that contain wavetables in them. SynthMaster One comes complete with a rich wavetable library that can be extended by placing wavetables in its Waveforms folder. Furthermore, each of its two oscillators feature 17 different algorithms controlled by Tone and Phase parameters to shape the oscillator wavetable.
SynthMaster One is available in 64-bit AU and VST formats for online purchase directly from KV331 Audio for $79.00 USD from here. Existing SynthMaster owners can crossgrade for $29.00 USD.
