New Gear Alert: Moog’s Animoog Z App, Blackstar Folding Piano, Tai Chi by Reverb Foundry & More
Moog releases the Animoog Z sound design app for iOS & macOS.
A decade after its release as Moog Music’s first professional synthesizer for iOS devices, the award-winning Animoog Anisotropic Synth Engine (ASE) app sees a complete transformation, reborn as Animoog Z.
Animoog Z is an inspiring mobile synthesizer that invites you to explore new concepts of multidimensional sound design and performance. The app expands on what made Animoog popular among professional musicians and entry-level synthesists alike, now with a more streamlined and intuitive experience, innovative sound engine and visual features, and availability on more platforms.
Animoog Z empowers you to visually traverse new sonic universes, and even create your own. ASE utilizes a novel orbit system to expand the concepts of wavetable and vector synthesis, allowing you to navigate dynamically through the X, Y, and Z axes of sound. Sound design with Animoog Z is immediate and intuitive; simply select and drag the orbit path to explore endless sonic configurations.
The universal app is now available for iPad, iPhone, Mac, and PC in AUv3 format. For pricing and further information, click here.
Blackstar releases the Carry-on 49-Key Folding Piano.
Following closely on the success of the Carry-on 88, the Blackstar Carry-on 49-Key Folding Piano offers a practical solution for piano and keyboard players that need to practice while traveling. Previously, travel keyboards had smaller keys, while roll-up solutions lacked the feel of a real instrument. But with the Carry-on 49-Key Folding Piano, storage and transport are made incredibly simple thanks to an intuitive, entirely foldable design.
When folded, the piano measures just 15.3 inches in length—allowing you to carry it in a small backpack, or put it away when visitors arrive. It weighs just 2.23 pounds, making it a viable lightweight creative option that’s ready wherever and whenever inspiration strikes. Thanks to a USB-rechargeable lithium-ion battery, the piano provides 8 hours of playing time on a full charge.
The Carry-on 49-Key Folding Piano comes with a USB charging cable and sustain pedal, and is currently available at a $99.99 price point. For players looking for a full-size keyboard, check out the big brother, the Carry-on 88-Key Folding Piano and MIDI Controller, at a price point of $129.99.
