Reason Studios releases Reason 11.

Reason 11 is the first release under the newly-branded Reason Studios, featuring the Reason Rack plugin for use with any DAW.

Reason Studios has announced that Reason 11 is now available via the newly-released Reason Studios website and authorized resellers worldwide. Reason’s rack of legendary synths, instruments, and effects can now be used in any DAW with the Reason Rack plugin. Reason 11 also features six new devices, a host of workflow improvements, and a new Reason Suite offering.

Reason 11 comes in three flavors: Reason Intro, Reason, and Reason Suite. Reason Suite is a vast collection of instruments, effects, and other music making tools. It offers more than 70 devices in total, including the newly-released Scenic Hybrid Instrument. In addition, top-selling Reason Studios devices also come included, such as: Complex-1 Modular Synth, Umpf Club Drums, Umpf Retro Beats, Reason Electric Bass, Reason Drum Kits, Processed Pianos, Layers Wave Edition, Layers, Parsec Spectral Synthesizer, Radical Keys, Polar Dual Pitch Shifter, Rotor Rotary Speaker, PolyStep Sequencer, Quad Note Generator, and Drum Sequencer.

BURL announces two new Mothership cards: The BAD4M and BMB6.

BURL releases two additions to the Mothership family: the BAD4M ADC and BMB6 AES/EBU I/O card.

The BAD4M is a mastering grade, 4-channel ADC daughter card for the B80 and B16 MOTHERSHIP, featuring stepped attenuators and switchable input transformers. Specifically designed for mixing and mastering, the BAD4M uses the latest BURL NextGen analog technology for superior fidelity and clarity.

On the digital side, the BAD4M employs a couple of new features: a switchable ADC filter and AVID delay matching. Switching the ADC filter allows you to change the tone from the classic BURL sound to a more aggressive tone with a more forward mid-range. The AVID delay matching allows you to perfectly match the input delay of an AVID HD I/O, which is crucial for hardware inserts.

The BMB6 features 8 channels of AES/EBU I/O connectivity. Designed exclusively for the B16, the BMB6 provides an easy interface to any AES/EBU device.

BOSS announces the DD-3T and DD-8 Digital Delay pedals.

Meet the newest generation of BOSS’ popular Digital Delay pedal family: the DD-3T and DD-8.

The DD-3T and DD-8 are two new digital delay pedals that BOSS has added to their famous compact series lineup. The DD-3T replaces the long-running DD-3, updating the classic pedal with tap tempo and other modern features. The DD-8 takes over from the previous-generation DD-7 as the most advanced delay in the compact series, enhanced with numerous sound modes and features that make it the most full-featured delay pedal in its class.

A key addition the DD-3T brings is tap tempo, an essential feature for creating the rhythmic delay effects at the heart of many styles. The onboard pedal switch can be used to input tempos, and it’s also possible to connect an external footswitch for instant-access control.

Equipped with a diverse selection of delays, the DD-8 packs impressive sonic range into one small pedal. Clean digital delays, vintage analog and tape types, and modulation echo are available, plus specialty delays like shimmer and reverse. The DD-8 also features full stereo I/O support with three different output modes. Independent mode provides linked parallel delays on the left and right channels, maintaining the true balance of stereo input sources in the effect sound. There’s also a panning mode for ping-pong delay effects, and a wide stereo mode for enhanced spatial depth.

The Omnipressor plugin is a faithful emulation of the original Eventide “black-face” unit, and is widely known as a popular dynamics modifier with variable expressive controls of all aspects of a signal’s dynamics. The Function control allows you to set compression and expansion ratios over a wide, continuous range—from extreme expansion to infinite compression and beyond-dynamic reversal, which reverses a sound’s envelope, making loud sounds quiet and quiet sounds loud.
