New Gear Alert: Red + RedNet Models from Focusrite Pro, Revelation Mini FET by MXL, Novation x Audio Damage & More
Focusrite Pro announces four new Red & RedNet products.
First up is Red 8Line, a new addition to Focusrite’s powerful Red range of Pro Tools | HD, Thunderbolt, and Dante audio interfaces. Red 8Line is the best choice for professionals who work in Pro Tools | HD and other DAWs—on both Mac and PC, thanks to the new Windows 10 drivers for Thunderbolt 3-equipped PC users.
RedNet R1 is a desktop remote controller that supercharges any Red range interface, by enabling you to interact with your audio like never before. It can control a range of different monitor output setups, ranging from mono through to 7.1.4 surround, including Dolby Atmos and other immersive audio workflows. Alternatively, completely custom setups of up to 12 outputs can be configured for bespoke speaker configurations.
Lastly, updates to the popular RedNet A16R and RedNet D16R Dante interfaces bring new functionality that makes them even more versatile for audio professionals in mission-critical scenarios. The new MkII models—RedNet A16R MkII and RedNet D16R MkII—share the same feature set as their predecessors, but are upgraded with individual level controls for input and output channels. This allows precise calibration of all inputs and outputs, making the process of accurate alignment of connected equipment more straightforward.
The Red 8Line and RedNet R1 will be available November 2020; the RedNet A16R MkII & RedNet D16R MkII are available now. Pricing and further information are available on the product pages.
MXL Microphones unveils the Revelation Mini FET mic.
Inspired by the Revelation and new Revelation II tube microphones, MXL set out to create a microphone that has the same intimacy and warmth of a tube mic, but built around a FET circuit with a smaller footprint.
MXL’s Revelation Mini FET utilizes a premium 32mm center terminating, gold-sputtered capsule combined with a low noise circuit to provide pristine sound in a range of applications. It focuses on the midrange and lower frequencies, which sets the mic apart from basic entry-level condenser mics. This innovative design results in recordings with less hum and more music. Additionally, the inclusion of a three-stage pad (0, -10dB, -20dB) provides the flexibility needed for recording high SPL sources, such as horns and kick drums.

Novation gifts Sound Collective members Audio Damage‘s Dubstation 2.
Modeling a vintage bucket brigade delay unit, Dubstation 2 centers on two independent delay lines, each with its own time setting and an optional ping-pong mode for complex, cross-fed stereo echoes.
An LFO modulates the delay time, extending the plugin’s remit into chorusing and classic analog-style pitch modulation, and Reverse and Loop functions let you flip and perpetually cycle the delay buffer, respectively. The characteristic warm distortion for which BBD devices are known and loved is brought to bear by the Input Drive and Saturation knobs; and high- and low-cut filters are also onboard for broad-strokes frequency shaping and live manipulation of the feedback circuit.
This offer is available until December 10th, 2020. During the same period, Sound Collective members can also take advantage of a 35% discount on any plugin instrument or effect in the Audio Damage store, including the Continua and Quanta synths, Enso looper, Discord 4 pitch shifter, QuatroMod modulation effect, and many more.
Bitwig announces Studio 3.3.
For their Spring update, Bitwig focused on greater control and sculpting possibilities for all sounds, whether coloring audio sources or reinterpreting note messages in new and adventurous ways.
Modularity means many things, but its main advantage is to offer producers the right tools at the right time. Just as instruments are intended to offer expression without distraction, Polymer is a new instrument borne of that model. And along with other critical updates, the aim of Bitwig Studio 3.3 is to extend and focus your workflow when doing sound design, editing, and more.

The Bitwig Studio 3.3 release is planned for Q4 2020; it is a free upgrade to everyone with an active upgrade plan for Bitwig Studio.
