Spitfire Audio unleashes Originals Cinematic Frozen Strings.

Pulling from the success of their Albion Tundra library, Spitfire debuts Originals Cinematic Frozen Strings.

Inspired by the atmospheric icy tones of Spitfire’s bestselling Albion Tundra, and also recorded at the stunning AIR Studios, these brand new recordings feature just eight players performing experimental extended techniques at the quietest level, offering ultra close-up intimacy and definition—instant inspiration straight out of the box in a stunning easy-to-use under 3GB plugin.

The library features three signals: Close, Tree, and Super Close, recorded using clip-on mics attached to the bridge of each instrument, providing an extremely detailed and precise sound. Designed for aspiring and established composers alike, it can be applied to any contemporary setting but is best suited to fragile, cold and haunting contexts, such as Scandi noir or independent intimate dramas.

MasterSounds launches limited edition accessories with Disclosure.

MasterSounds and Disclosure team up to deliver select limited edition DJ accessories.

The team at MasterSounds has started the new year with an exciting collaboration with one of UK dance music’s most praised artists, Disclosure. The product range in the collaboration consists of a limited run of 50x custom black & silver turntable weights with the renowned Disclosure logo on top, and 50x pairs of MasterSounds’ popular double-sided turntable FlipMats brandishing the same gorgeous design on both sides—one side in mono and the other in “Party Mode”, where the design comes to life in a beautifully colored gradient.

The project was formulated after the music duo employed a MasterSounds setup, comprising a Radius 4 DJ Mixer and FX Unit, for their Twitch Livestream, and a set of custom turntable weights and FlipMats was made especially for them.

Blue Cat Audio updates their Freeware Pack with Apple Silicon support & more.

Blue Cat provides crucial updates to their Freeware Pack.

The new versions of Blue Cat’s 7 free plugins now support the new Apple M1, M1X, and M1 Pro processors natively, for optimal performance and compatibility. The update also includes improvements in its MIDI implementation, performance tweaks, and several fixes for the VST3 plugin format. It is a recommended (and free) update, fully compatible with the previous versions of the plugins.

Plugins which see this update include: Blue Cat’s Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, FreqAnalyst, Gain Suite, Triple EQ and Free Amp. They are available separately or as part of the “Blue Cat’s Freeware Pack” bundle. The plugins are 100% free and do not require any registration, dongle, or mailing list subscription.
