New Joey Bada$$ Single Produced By DJ Premier, Out On Green Label Sound
Brooklyn-bred rising star MC Joey Bada$$ – which XXL named, “New York hip hop’s last hope, the heir apparent to lyrical giants like Nas and Big L” – has a new single out today on Mountain Dew’s Green Label Sound. The single, “Unorthodox” was produced by DJ Premier.

Recorded at Premier’s private HeadQCourterz Studio in NYC late last year, “Unorthodox” sees the 17-year-old rapper and the legendary producer (Gang Starr, Biggie Smalls) bringing back some classic 90s-era-inspired hip-hop. In the video below, Gang Starr’s Moment of Truth is called out as an influence in getting these two together.
“Unorthodox”, which Joey dedicates “to real hip-hop fans and his Pro Era collective” – is available for free download at http://www.greenlabelsound.com.
