NJ Event Alert: Hip Hop/R&B Production Seminar Led by Bink! — June 30th

From the studio comes the wisdom.

That appears to be the philosophy of Sound on Sound Studios, which returned to the New York City area recording scene in 2017 with a beautiful new facility in Montclair, NJ. In addition to hosting the expected tracking and mixing sessions, the studio has launched it’s School of Sound, an ongoing series of audio-centric lectures and seminars hosted by top engineers.

Bink! is on point for teaching beatmaking and beyond at Sound on Sound Studios starting Saturday, June 30th.

This Saturday, June 30^th, from 2-6 PM, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about beats and a whole lot more from GRAMMY award-winning producer Bink!. In this recurring seminar, he guides the class through his method and experiences in beat production for hip hop and R&B. Note that this specialized course is not advised for beginners.

Four hours in duration, the course takes attendees into the studio with Bink! as he walks through:

• his methods of sampling and creating sounds
• techniques for manipulating and editing those sounds;
• how to put those pieces together to make them into a larger track;
• offers critiques along the way as participants create their own songs with some of the sounds he builds in front of the class

Bink! has produced tracks for the likes of Drake, Rick Ross, Dr. Dre, J. Cole, and Kanye West. He notably produced three songs on Jay-Z’s The Blueprint, including the title track. Blink!’s years of experience include building songs from scratch for some of the biggest artists in the industry, which he is eager to share in this course.
