Nomad Factory Releases MAGNETIC II Tape Warmer Plug-In
Tube emulation specialists Nomad Factory recently announced the launch of “MAGNETIC II“.
MAGNETIC II ups the tape warmth ante from Nomad Factory.
The second generation of their MAGNETIC plugin, it is designed to be a truly realistic “Real to Real” audio tape warming effect plug-in that gives users audio tracks a vintage tape sound which can inject audio with the warmth and character of classic tube circuitry, and analog tape saturation.
From now through December 31, 2011 the new MAGNETIC II plug-in will be sold at an introductory price of $79 (MSRP $149). An upgrade path from MAGNETIC I is also available for only $20. Magnetic II is also available as part of Nomad’s new “Integral Studio Pack III”, which can be had for $199 (MSRP: $599).
The MAGNETIC II plugin features pure analog reel-to-reel tape speeds, tape/tube saturation and tape color effects, as well as a dedicated vintage-style EQ and a built in Boost mastering section.
MAGNETIC II offers several new features that build on the original MAGNETIC, and nine new tape models that provide the authentic sound of famous vintage tape machines, including:
* Otari MX-80 2-inch 24-track
* Otari MTR-90 2-inch 24-track
* Ampex MM1200 2-inch 24-track
* Ampex ATR-102 half-inch two-track
* Tascam ATR60-16 1-inch 16-track
* Studer A80 Mk II 2-inch 24-track
* Studer A827 2-inch 24-track
* Studer A820 2-inch 24-track
* MCI JH24 2-inch 24-track
MAGNETIC II can be used on individual tracks to add subtle warmth and tape color to drums, or uses to create a filtered cassette AM-radio effect on a vocal. Used on the master bus, MAGNETIC II is designed to warm an entire mix and “boost” it up to broadcast level.
