NYC Event Alert: Alto Music Brooklyn Happy Hour with John Storyk – 6/1
May 24th, 2017 by David Weiss
The room, not the gear, will be the focus of the next Alto Music Brooklyn Happy Hour. That’s owing to the star attraction John Storyk, Architect/Acoustician and Founding Partner of WSDG (Walters-Storyk Design Group).
Storyk’s presentation will include:
- A retrospective of his first (and still active) studio design, Electric Lady in Greenwich Village.
- The continuing relevance for both home/project studios AND ‘mega’ studios.
- Technical issues ranging from acoustics and isolation to speaker placement and future 3D audio production environments
- The similar goals and dramatically different solutions of three diverse Project Studios: One built inside a 140 sq. ft. Airstream Trailer (circa 1958), another built 22 feet below a luxurious new 5000 sq. ft. Victorian home in an “Undisclosed Location,” and Blue Table Post, just completed in a renovated Boerum Hill townhouse
Alto Music Brooklyn can be found at at 67 West St #413 (4th Floor) in Greenpoint Brooklyn, between Milton and Noble.
Refreshments will be served and attendance is free, but remember to RSVP. Hit up Dan Physics of Alto Music Brooklyn: danphysics@altomusic.com.
