NYC Event: June 9 — “Disruption 2014: How to Survive & Thrive in the New Music Industry”
With the vaunted entertainment industry tradeshow Promaxbda finally returning to New York City after a three-year absence, next week will be all about forging connections, making moves, and getting smarter.
In line with that plan of action, the Production Music Association is presenting a must-attend panel: “Disruption 2014: How to Survive & Thrive in the New Music Industry.”
The event takes place Monday, June 9, 6-8 PM at BMI Headquarters (full coordinates below). Admission is $10 for PMA members, $15 for non-members and guests.
Composers, producers, publishers, artists, digital music mavens, and entrepenuers are all encouraged to attend. What they’ll see and hear is a highly in-the-know grouping of industry professionals — including determined disruptors like Auidam’s Jeff Price — exploring the most effective avenues for success in today’s fast-changing music business. No stone will be left unturned in the search for fresh solutions.
Moderated by Joe Saba, co-founder of VideoHelper, the panel will explore time-sensitive topics including
Challenges to traditional revenue streams: How to respond, when both sync and performance monies are under new and different kinds of pressures?
Emerging revenue streams and technological developments: What are the newest platforms & models for sync, digital sales and rights administration?
Joining Saba on the panel are:
Joe Conyers III, VP/GM, SongTrust
Jeff Price, CEO, Audiam
Jaclyn Ranere, VP, Marketing/Corporate Communications, The Orchard
David Weiss, Co-Founder, SonicScoop
Doug Wood, President, Omni Music
With its plugged-in membership, the PMA is always right on top of the issues facing modern day music makers. A non-profit organization with over 670 music publisher members, ranging from major labels to independent boutiques, the PMA is ever-vigilant about maximizing the value of production music and helping its members. Collectively, the music of PMA members is vital to the soundtracks of TV shows, Hollywood and independent films, online entertainment, and more.
For those looking to improve their position in this vertical, or introduce production music into their revenue streams, this stands as an essential event.
