NYC’s Fanatic Records Signs Shunda K, Lachi, Red Wanting Blue
As Fanatic Records launches its first title — the sophomore album, My Dear One, by Brooklyn klezmer-punk band The Shondes — the label also signs three new artists to its roster: Shunda K, Lachi and Red Wanting Blue.
On July 27, 2010, Fanatic Records will issue new releases by all three of its recently signed artists. Shunda K, of the hip-hop duo Yo! Majesty, will release the maxi-single Here I Am To Save The World (listen below) on CD and 12”. The single comes ahead of Shunda K’s upcoming solo album debut and includes remixes by producers Scripts ‘N Screwz, (NYC-based) Nite Club and The New Loud.
Lachi, a Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter, will release her self-titled debut on Fanatic. A blind artist performing jazz-tinged pop with a full band, Lachi is also an activist on behalf of blind musicians.
And, Fanatic will also re-issue Red Wanting Blue’s originally self-released album, These Magnificent Miles along with a double-LP special edition of the record, which was produced by Jamie Candiloro (Ryan Adams, REM).
Fanatic Records, the label offshoot of NYC public relations agency Fanatic Promotions, is distributed in North America by EMI/Caroline.
