Personnel Moves: Allan Timms Joins Universal Audio as VP of Engineering

A lifelong audiophile and engineer has just joined the executive level with recording, mixing and mastering solutions provider Universal Audio (UA).

The company recently announcied the addition of Allan Timms in the role of Vice President of Engineering. Timms comes to UA with deep experience leading hardware, software and mixed-signal engineering teams.

At UA, Timms will define and deliver critical architectures for current and future UA products. According to the company, Timms’ past history of developing innovative systems that scale made him an optimum candidate for the position.

Timms comes to UA after serving as the Head of Software Engineering at Switzerland consumer/professional electronics maker Logitech, whose brands include Blue Microphones and Ultimate Ears. While there he was responsible for all embedded, mobile, desktop and cloud software stack teams, as well as the overall software strategy. Prior to Logitech, Timms spent 10+ years in various engineering leadership roles at mobile technologies provider Qualcomm, where he rose to the role of Director of Engineering, Smart Gateway Products.
