Phish 3D Movie To Hit Theaters April 30
Phish 3D, presented by Action 3D Productions, AEG Network and Cinedigm, will debut on Friday, April 30 in select cities for one week only.
The movie was shot in October 2009 at Phish’s Festival 8 in Indio, California where 40,000 fans witnessed multiple days of Phish performances, as well as a concert where the band covered The Rolling Stones‘ Exile on Main St. album in its entirety.
Mixed in 5.1 surround by Grammy-winning engineer/producer Elliot Scheiner, Phish 3D also features never-before-seen cover songs, footage of the band backstage and in rehearsals, songs from the band’s first ever full-length acoustic set, and performances taken from six additional sets of music.
In addition, the movie will be shown at special preview screenings in nine select U.S. cities on April 20th. Tickets for preview screenings in Boston, Burlington, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, New York, Raleigh/Durham, and Washington D.C. sold out in less than an hour, necessitating a move to larger theaters. To meet the high demand from fans, all nine cities selected for preview screenings will also host April 30th official debut screenings.
Tickets for the movie are on sale now and can be purchased at http://www.phish3dmovie.com/theaters. If you can’t make it, Phish will be kicking off an extensive summer tour on June 11 at Toyota Park in Chicago, IL. For full details, visit http://summer2010.phish.com/.
