PromaxBDA Winners of Promotion, Marketing & Design Awards Announced

Whether you were in music, design, or straight up marketing, attending PromaxBDA last week in NYC was powerful. The crowd it attracts is uniquely focused, friendly and professional – having it back in Manhattan after a two-year absence felt right to everyone who took in its three days at the Hilton.

This year’s gathering was capped by the 2014 Promotion, Marketing & Design North America Awards and Global Excellence Awards. The objective: to recognize the most creative and high-impact work produced in North America and throughout the world.

North America Awards Winners

FX Networks was recognized as the Marketing Team of the Year, in addition to securing 40 individual awards for specific campaigns. Stun Creative in Los Angeles received the Agency of the Year award, plus seven awards for individual campaigns.

Other North America Award winners were A&E Television Networks with 30, Showtime with 26 and HBO with 25. Additional winners were National Geographic Channels, Fox Sports Marketing, Bell Media Agency, Discovery, ESPN, HISTORY, and Nickelodeon.

Global Excellence Awards Winners

PromaxBDA also recognized achievements in entertainment marketing that impacted marketing on a global scale. These were the teams that demonstrated worldwide leadership in entertainment marketing and defied convention with their standout campaigns.

Bell Media Agency in Canada was awarded Marketing Team of the Year, as well as receiving 23 individual awards. The Corner London was recognized as the Agency of the Year with eight individual awards.

Other Global Excellence Awards winners were ProSiebenSat.1TV Deutschland with 13, ABC TV Australia with seven, and National Geographic Channels International with 12. Other winners include Creative Services Comedy South, Foxtel Lifestyle, and SBS Discovery Nordic On-Air.

The jury was composed of an elite panel of industry leaders, who objectively reviewed the campaigns to decide which truly represent the most innovative and creative marketing in the industry.

This year, PromaxBDA emphasized the importance of the North America and Global Excellence Awards for offering creative inspiration and aspiration.

The awards celebrate marketers’ roles in connecting viewers to content. Audiences are saturated with options for content, and in order to reach and engage viewers, marketers have to leverage new forms of media, whether creating interesting Vine campaigns or using Instagram to build a following. PromaxBDA: The Conference2014 focused on these new trends and strategies with the theme, #WTFuture. The Conference included forward-looking sessions on topics such as the use of contagious content to increase engagement, how rebranding efforts are helping networks grow, and how neuroscience is making marketing more effective.
