Rain Computers (NJ) Releases Nimbus M2 Audio + Video Workstation
New Jersey-based Rain Computers has announced the availability of the Nimbus M2 Audio + Video workstation (MSRP: $1599).
The Nimbus M2 is Rain's latest multimedia workstation.
The Nimbus M2 is a follow up to Rain’s well-received Nimbus Multimedia Computer. The M2 offers a strong power vs. performance ratio via a standard Phenom II X6 6-core processor developed by AMD (NASDAQ: AMD), NVIDIA Quadro 600 Workstation Video Card and 8GB or 16GB of memory.
The company collaborated closely with Adobe Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: ADBE) to further ensure maximum stability and reliability for the platform.
Other significant upgrades over the original Nimbus include the ability to expand to 32 gigabytes of memory, with the external hard drive bay allowing for a fast “hot swap” drive to be installed without any technical knowledge. To reinforce Rain’s “Quiet Cool Design”, a new cooling system developed by gaming computer specialists NZXT combines modular cooling fans with advanced acoustic insulation.
The Nimbus M2 is available with RainCare Encompass Creative Computer Support that covers the system’s computer, software and hardware.
