Seaboard RISE 49 from ROLI Now Shipping to Music Makers Globally
The four octave version of the original Seaboard RISE controller from ROLI is now available for our twiddling pleasure.
We experienced the Seaboard RISE 49 first hand at Winter NAMM last month. If you’re the one making music, it’s truly an original experience – you can discover entirely new worlds of sound the moment you begin. And watching performances by synth stars like Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater) is equally invigorating, since you’re along for the ride as they embark on their own new sonic adventures with the ROLI, right before your ears and eyes.
The controller note values are structured like that of a traditional keyboard instrument. Rather than keys, RISE 49 uses keywaves, allowing users to interact with five dimensions of control:
- Strike — The velocity and force of the finger making contact with the keywave
- Press — The continuous pressure applied to the keywave after the initial Strike
- Glide — Horizontal movement from side to side on a keywave and along the ribbons
- Slide — Vertical movement up and down a keywave
- Lift — The speed of liftoff from a keywave
All controls on the Seaboard RISE 49 can be controlled by MIDI CC values for a huge variety of music control options.
ROLI’s Seaboard RISE 49 is available now for $1,199 MSRP.
