Sennheiser Launches Online Audio for Video Tutorial Series

Filmmakers and audio specialists alike will be happy to know that Sennheiser has launched a new video series, appropriately entitled “Audio for Video”, that aims to help video filmmakers raise their game on the sound side and record “perfect sound” for their projects.
Produced by award-winning video journalist Geert Verdickt, the series is made up of five episodes total. If the first episode, “Wireless – and How to Use It” is any indication, viewers are in for a fun, informative, and informal learning experience. While the video looks terrific and sounds pristine (of course), Verdickt is personable and down-to-earth in his delivery, and provides plenty of practical information in the premier piece, which clocks in at just under 11:00.
New tutorials will be uploaded to http://www.sennheiserusa.com/audioforvideo every two weeks through November 14.
According to Sennheiser, the idea is to provide a multitude of useful tips on all aspects of audio for video, ranging from everyday situations to particularly challenging filming environments. The tutorials are aimed at video journalists, video filmmakers and amateurs who want to enhance their video images with excellent sound.
The subjects dealt with in the tutorials include wireless audio recording, choosing the right microphone, recording with DSLR cameras and using shotgun microphones, as well as tips and tricks for avoiding proximity effect and reducing wind noise.
As an added bonus, each episode includes a giveaway, which viewers can enter by answering a question on the subject at hand. Among the opportunities will be a chance to win three combinations of an MKE 600, Sennheiser‘s new video shotgun microphone and a set of classic HD 25-II headphones. The winners will be drawn from all the correct answers submitted.
