SIR Audio Tools Releases StandardCLIP Dynamics Control + Effects Plug-In
SIR Audio Tools is a plug-in developer that offers a handful of intelligently developed plug-ins. StandardCLIP, their latest offering, allows for control over the volume level of an audio signal or for additional odd harmonic content.
The plug-in expresses the limiting process in a more in-depth way. StandardCLIP offers slightly more than the conventional amount of content that comes with a ‘standard’ limiting plug-in. Users are able to adjust the way clipping is done with oversampling or down-sampling filter types, altering the output greatly. Choices come down to sacrificing phase shift or not.
The StandardCLIP is available for an intro price of $25, and can be purchased in ‘StandardCLIP + StandardEQ Bundle’ for $139 MSRP. Availability includes Mac and PC in Audio Unit, AAX, and VST formats. Register for the SIR Audio Tools newsletter, you will also receive a 25% discount coupon, which can be used to purchase StandardCLIP and the bundle.

True Clipping
StandardCLIP is a new advanced clipping-plugin. You can use StandardCLIP as a dynamic tool to increase the volume or as an effect to add odd harmonics to your signal. StandardCLIP offers high quality oversampling up to the factor 32 and a large variety of options.
StandardCLIP was designed to handle the clipping process as flexible as possible. You can adjust the way the clipping is done easily, like a hard-limiting brick wall or smooth soft-saturated. StandardCLIP also offers input and output RMS-meters and a waveform display for the perfect control of the output volume.
The filter which is used for up and down-sampling is very important for a good result. You can choose between linear-phase and minimum-phase mode. Also you are able to change the filter quality and cut-off frequency of the oversampling process. Read more in the manual.
