Music Publicity Firms Solid Gold and Canvas Media Announce Merger
Solid Gold and Canvas Media – the LA- and NYC-based music publicity firms – are merging. The business will retain the Solid Gold name and bring Canvas Media’s Brendan Bourke and his roster of artists into the fold.
The merger will provide Solid Gold with a NYC office, along with their Los Angeles headquarters, offering their clients hands on service on both coasts.
Canvas Media was launched in November 2007 by Bourke and Stephen McGrath out of Toronto. In March 2010, the company was moved to New York City, where Bourke had worked in the industry for fourteen years, including several years as the co-owner of Tag Team Media. Bourke’s Canadian experience will allow Solid Gold to now comprehensively service all North American media.
Jeff Anderson launched Solid Gold in early 2011 and has quickly built a roster of up-and-coming talent, bringing several artists to national attention, including Best Coast, Dirty Beaches, Diamond Rings, Future Islands, and Sean Bones. With the addition of Bourke and artists on his roster including Tegan and Sara, Patrick Wolf, Tokyo Police Club, Dan Mangan and An Horse, Solid Gold will be one of the premiere boutique PR companies in the business.
