Sonarworks Adds Six More Headphone Models To Calibration Software
Sonarworks understands that headphones have physical limitations regarding the frequency response they can slather across our ears. Mixing, and referencing through headphones in particular are applications that sometimes fall short as a means of creating a balanced mix.
Their REFERENCE v3.1 plug-in attempts to correct these shortcomings with model-specific calibration. The headphones are tuned to a target frequency response, aiming for the sound of “flat speakers in a well-treated studio”. New headphone models available in v3.1 include:
- AKG K271 MKII
- Beyerdynamic DT770 250 Ohm
- Focal Spirit Pro
- KRK KNS 8400
- Sennheiser HD25-II
- Sennheiser HD800
The Sonarworks REFERENCE v3.1 plug-in is available now with 24 studio headphone models at $69 MSRP for a single license with individual headphone measurement service available at an intro price of $44 MSRP. Available for OSX and Windows, formats include AU, AAX, RTAS, and VST. Here are more details from Sonarworks:
