SoundToys To Launch Surprise New Plug-In at SXSW
If you’re down in Austin for SXSW, make sure you hit up the Tape Op Subscriber’s Party on Friday, March 18, at Lucky Lounge. SoundToys is a sponsor, and will apparently be giving away some awesome gift packs!
Also psst…rumor has it the Burlington-based software company will be introducing a secret new plug-in at SXSW. The announcement is expected tomorrow or Saturday, and the plug-in will be available by next week!
All we know is that it is not the much-anticipated Juice plug-in. SoundToys is pre-registering public beta testers for Juice now. Nothing else has been confirmed. Stay tuned!

March 17, 2011 at 2:21 pm (14 years ago)GOD I HOPE IT’S an AMS DMX Plugin, I’ve told Mitch before at 2 AES shows, and at Remix Atlanta. That is the single greatest piece of outboard gear that no one has made a plugin emulator for. Maybe because it sounds so good that no one has been able to emulate it. That was the quintessential go to box for delays and especially the harmonizer. The Harmonizer added a gorgeous kind of brassy analog, synthetic sound, to background vocals & leads that was incredible. I was a part of many hit record mixes, and that was the sound on all the vocals for countless hits. The delays are amazing as well, they generate beautiful analog tails, that would just fade into the mix perfectly…….THAT AMS DMX should’ve be a plugin right from the beginning.
