Steinberg Introduces Padshop Granular Synthesizer
Steinberg – the company that brings us the Cubase and Nuendo DAWs, among other popular software products, has introduced details of their new VST synth – Padshop. Steinberg claims that Padshop takes the complexities of granular synthesis to the next generation with its ease of operation and flexibility.
The Padshop granular synth will be available some time this month of February and will be compatible with Mac or Windows computers.
No price as been released yet, so until that time here are some details from Steinberg themselves:
“GRANALUR SYNTHESIS 2012
Granular synthesis is one of the most fascinating fields of experimental sound design, but the conversions for programming and creating sounds based on granular synthesis algorithms have always been too complex and sophisticated for every-day sound design or too shallow for serious in-depth sound manipulation. With Padshop, Steinberg offers a granular synthesizer that raises the standard in terms of handling, flexibility, musicality and sound. With its intuitive user interface and innovative feature set, Padshop gives you a fresh, flexible and great-sounding approach to creative and user-friendly granular synthesis. The solid engine and the high-class filters provide a strong fundament for inspiring explorations in unexpected atmospheres.
