STIR POST AUDIO Launches in Chicago
The Windy City has a powerful new addition to their audio post scene.
A major facility has arrived in the form of STIR POST AUDIO, created by three of Chicago’s major media players: Greg Allan, David Kaplan and Mindy Verson. The full service audio post and sound design resource has two locations at 445 East Ohio Street, and 200 N. Dearborn St.
The new venture offers ad and film clients a choice of three studios, spread across two agency-friendly locations in Streeterville and the Theatre District. Acoustic design for the eye-catching new studios comes courtesy of John Storyk of the famed Walters-Storyk Design Group (WSDG).
Clients of STIR POST will not only get to work with multiple award-winning engineers/mixers/sound designers, but also be able to streamline the entire audio process, including original music, by opting to bundle music through Allan’s sonic content company, Sonixphere.
STIR POST’s personnel are set to shake things up even further in Chicago. Formerly LA-based engineer/mixer/sound designer Amber Tisue will mix in Studio A at the Streeterville studio. Meanwhile, Audio Producers Group (APG)head engineer/mixer/sound designer Peter Erazmus heads up the Theatre District location.
OPPORTUNITY ALERT: The partners are scouting a third engineer for Studio B at the Streeterville location. If Chicago beckons and your audio post chops are in the premier category, then get in touch with STIR.
STIR’s founding partners, Allan, Kaplan and Verson all share deep roots in the global ad and film industry, with extensive backgrounds in all aspects of audio post. Allan is also the CEO and Creative Director of Sonixphere, a global resource for music and sound he launched in 2011. Kaplan and Verson have been partners in APG for the past 10 years. At Stir Post Audio, Kaplan and Verson will commute between both locations as Executive Producers, and Allan will steer business development.
Taking up a spacious 3,400 square feet, STIR POST’s new Streeterville location features two fully-equipped custom built studios. Decorated in mid-century Bauhuas style, the space features concrete floors and has a “form meets function” aesthetic.
The Theatre District studio is a 27th floor Manhattan-style loft with sweeping views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago River. Amenities there include a full kitchen and balcony with panoramic views.
Hardware and capabilities of STIR Post Audio, which was acoustically designed by the aformentioned esteemed architect and acoustician John Storyk, of WSDG include
