Synch Stars: Cinemax Features 7 Songs by NYC Artist Jess Domain in “Girl’s Guide to Depravity”
NYC-based artist Jess Domain is having a good synch licensing season. In a music supervision coup, the singer/songwriter was asked to tailor a collection of songs for Cinemax’ provocative new series “The Girl’s Guide To Depravity,” which is based on a popular blog that re-writes the rules of dating for the modern girl.
Jess Domain is in synch with Cinemax.
The result is seven Domain-penned songs being played across nine out of the 13 “Girl’s Guide” episodes, used for end titles, as background and visual instrumentation. The series airs on Cinemax on Friday nights at 11pm ET/PT.
The songs “Found My Soul” and “The Invitation” were recorded in LA at the studio of “Girl’s Guide” composer studio Bobby Tahouri. Domain recorded the remaining five songs in NYC personal studios.

“I’ve licensed a lot of music to shows in the past,” Domain said, “but because Cinemax is now focusing more on original programming, I’ve found a place to create and record totally new music for new characters and story lines as they emerge.”
