The Dave Amels Interview: Anamod, and the Art of Advanced Analog
Dave Amels is both diversified and singularly driven. Formerly famed as the founder of digital plugin developer Bomb Factory, today he’s pushing the envelope of Anamod Audio analog hardware like the Realios A9052 Equalizer and TL Compressor, the A9031 mic pre, and the ATS-1 Analog Tape Simulator.
The design principle? Apply the same patented mathematical modeling procedures for making plugins to the creation of AnaMod’s analog products.
Input/Output’s Eli Janney and Geoff Sanoff caught up with Amels in NYC at the last AES, and let his easygoing genius do the talking. Learn how to really evaluate analog vs. digital, and a whole lot more, in this latest edition of Input/Output.
