A huge component in the sound of modern styles of pop, hip hop, electronic and rock vocals is vocal alignment—particularly when we are talking about stacks upon stacks of vocal takes from the same singer.
Some of the “sheen” we expect out of major releases come from this modern practice of vocal alignment… but until recently, this it has been a very tedious process.
