The Sword Signs Global Deal With Razor & Tie
Austin-based metal band The Sword has signed a new, multi-album worldwide deal with NYC-based label, Razor & Tie.
After releasing three critically acclaimed albums on Brooklyn-based Kemado Records, the Austin TX based quartet featuring guitarist/vocalist J.D. Cronise, guitarist Kyle Shutt, bassist Bryan Richie, and new drummer Santiago “Jimmy” Vela III will commence recording their fourth album in late June with a projected release date of fall 2012.
The new studio album will reportedly be supported by extensive global touring that will stretch well into 2013.
But, before that, The Sword will play Metallica’s two-day Orion Music Festival in Atlantic City, NJ June 23-24! Orion will be headlined both nights by Metallica – they’ll play the Black Album in its entirety on one night, and Ride the Lightning on the other – and will feature a whole line-up of rock bands including Arctic Monkeys, Modest Mouse, The Gaslight Anthem, A Place To Bury Strangers, Wooden Ships and more. The Sword is the latest addition to independent label Razor & Tie’s expanding roster that includes All That Remains, For Today, P.O.D., Norma Jean, I Am War, Saves the Day, Shadows Fall, and more to be announced soon.
