There are Only 4 Ways to EQ ANYTHING

Believe it or not, but in all the masters I’ve done over the past decade, I’ve come to realize that there are only 4 different “shapes” that a mix can come in—and therefore, only 4 different ways to apply EQ in mastering.

Bold claim? Here’s a bolder one: I believe this is true not only in mastering, but with EQing ANYTHING.

Once you learn to distinguish between, and ultimately master, these “Four Cardinal Directions of EQ“, you’ll start making your mixing, mastering, and even recording decisions much faster than ever before, and with better results.
