Universal Audio Launches Ocean Way Studios Dynamic Room Modeling Plugin

Universal Audio (UA) has announced today the release of their newest plugin, which represents a highly advanced new approach to acoustic space emulation: the Ocean Way Studios dynamic room modeling plugin.

The Ocean Way Studios plugin arrives following three years of close collaboration between and Allen Sides, who owned Ocean Way Studios from 1985 until earlier this year — and learned every inch of the studio and its mic collection along the way.
The result is what UA describes as an “audio processing first” in its workings: It combines elements of room, microphone, and source modeling so tracks sound as if they were recorded in the legendary studios of Ocean Way Recording.
The new Ocean Way Studios Plug-In, $349, is the flagship launch of the newly released UAD Software 7.0. The latest upgrade to the UAD platform, v7.0 also includes the SPL Twintube and Sonnox Inflator Plugins.

Built upon UA’s proprietary new Dynamic Room Modeling, Ocean Way Studios provides the unique ambience and dispersion properties of various sources in the rooms at Ocean Way, as recorded through a selection of rare vintage microphones that can be dynamically positioned in real time via a simple click-and-drag interface. Ideal mic selections and placements are provided in both Ocean Way Recording’s “Studio A” and “Studio B “ — the exact rooms and setups used to record some of the biggest acts of all time.
