AES Event Alert: Afterglow 2018 at Sear Sound – Thursday, 10/18

Nothing gets us aglow like Afterglow, the annual emperor of all AES parties.

At AES 2018, Afterglow will actually be EXTRA special, celebrating its 10th Anniversary of kicking back in style after a long day on the tradeshow floor. It’s returning to the classy environs of Sear Sound, 353 West 48th Street — just a short jaunt from the Jacob Javits Center — running from 6-9 PM on Thursday, October 18th.

Oh oh OH it’s Afterglow!!!

This time, there will be a bonus for even the most hard-core audio geeks among us. The entrancing experimental multi-instrumentalist Emily Wells will not only be performing and recorded live: Her show will be captured direct-to-disc (yes, VINYL) in quadraphonic sound, presented by the highly desirable Shinola Runwell Turntable.

Ever since its memorable debut in 2009 at NYC’s Platinum Sound Recording, Afterglow has been an essential component of the AES experience. Last year’s performance featuring Gotye was an undisputed highlight of the convention, with its convergence of terrific live music, engineering excellence, and beautiful vibes.

2018 promises to take Afterglow even higher. Don’t miss it! As always, Afterglow is free to attend, but space is limited and you must RSVP.

Afterglow is made possible by Vintage King, Barefoot Sound, Shinola Audio, CyKiK, Eventide, The NAMM Show, G-Technology, AVN Systems, ATC Loudspeakers, United Recording, SonicScoop, and Gearslutz.
