Afterglow After-Party Lights Up AES Week in NYC — October 17 at Sear Sound

Each year the annual AES convention comes with something extra.

That, of course, is Afterglow, the renowned recording industry after-party. For 2019, Afterglow goes up to 11 (as in 11 years and counting) with it’s most musically and technically adept agenda yet. Taking place once again at the incomporable Sear Sound at 353 West 48th Street on Thursday, October 17 from 6-9 PM, Afterglow is just a quick hop from the Javits Center.

In addition to exclusive demo sessions by some of pro audio’s most prestigious equipment manufacturers, partygoers will experience a performance being recorded live. 2019’s lineup presents a duo collaboration with Grammy-winning recording artist Jason Lindner (Now vs Now, David Bowie, Chick Corea, Angélique Kidjo) and multi-instrumentalist Nate Wood of the Grammy-nominated jazz collective Kneebody.

Musical adventurists Jason Lindner and Nate Wood are on the scene at Afterglow 2019.

For all the gearheads (that is—EVERYBODY), the session will be produced by spatial music producer and arts technologist KamranV, while being recorded live in vintage quadraphonic sound direct to disc (vinyl) via PHONOCUT. It’s a unique immersive experience that’s the perfect capper to AES Day 2.
