Avid: New Mac Mini is Compatible with Pro Tools|HDX 11

It’s official: The latest Mac will play nice with Pro Tools|HDX 11.

The Mac Mini is now most musical.

Avid has announced that the new Mac Mini with Magma Express Box 3 (EB3T) is compatible with Pro Tools|HDX support and/or HD Native. In other words, users of the new Mac Mini machines with Magma Express Box 3 (EB3T) will have full access to the features of Pro Tools|HDX.

The ExpressBox 3T from Magma is a 3-slot Thunderbolt-to-PCIe expansion chassis which provides an “outside-the-box” solution for using PCIe cards with Thunderbolt-equipped computers. Since Thunderbolt is based on DisplayPort technology, users can also daisy chain a high-resolution display using a Magma ExpressBox 3T.
