Brother Joscephus, Gov’t Mule Recording at Carriage House

The Brooklyn-based band Brother Joscephus and the Love Revival Revolution Orchestra recently finished mixing their latest full-length album with engineer/mixer Brendan Muldowney in Studio A at the Carriage House – in Stamford, CT.

The 12-piece band has been described as “an explosion of righteousness blending New Orleans party music, soul in the style of Ray Charles and Al Green, a good helping of jam-bandy roots rock and a splash of upbeat (non-religious) gospel into a feel-good gumbo of love.”

Working primarily out of The Carriage House, the project’s engineer Brendan Muldowney has mixed for artists like Black 47, Dave Eggar, Johnny Winter and Carmen Townsend.

The Carriage House is a residential recording studio encompassing an SSL 4048 E/G-equipped main studio A located in a converted horse carriage workshop, a separate bungalow mixing/mastering suite known as “The Barn,” and accommodations for clients to stay on site while they work.

In other recent sessions…Gov’t Mule has been recording in Studio A – with Gordie Johnson (Big Sugar, Grady) producing, and Muldowney engineering. The tracks were cut to Carriage House’s 3M 16-track 2 inch machine.

And, Grammy-winning producer/engineer Jay Newland (Norah Jones, Charlie Haden) cut tracks for singer Caroll Matthews.
