Here’s more information on this musical motivational tool, direct from DJ TechTools:

Designed as an educational program as well as a competition, Wax to Tracks takes the traditional DJ through a music production journey, exploring four different phases: Sample-Based Production, Mixdown, Remixing, and Original Track Creation.

The program is currently accepting video applications from DJs, specifically without commercial (label-issued) releases, and 5 competitors will ultimately be selected to participate in the 3-month contest program. Competitors will each start off with a copy of Ableton Live 9 Standard, a Midi Fighter controller, and a pair of AIAIAI TMA-1 Studio headphones, along with additional educational resources compiled by DJ Tech Tools and leading music production and sound engineering institutions Pyramind and Point Blank.

The judging process will take place after each of the four music production phases, and will include one DJ TechTools leader, one Ableton Ninja, and one celebrity judge notable for their work in the field of audio engineering. The winner will receive over $5,000 in prizes from notable pro audio companies, such as Ableton, AIAIAI, Apogee, Gobbler, Apogee, Soundcloud, and of course, DJ TechTools; as well as earning a unique interactive experience with an artist to be announced.
