Event Alert: The Society of Composers & Lyricists – Adam Guettel “Creative Process”, 12/12

The Society of Composers & Lyricists in NY is presenting “Adam Guettel – Creative Process” on Monday, December 12th, at 7:00 PM. This event, featuring one of Musical Theater’s top composers, will be held at the Frederick Loewe Theatre (NYU) on 35 West 4th Street, NYC.

Award-winning composer Adam Guettel visit the SCL in NY on December 12th.

Admission is free for SCL members and NYU Students, $25 for non-members.

Adam Guettel composed The Light in the Piazza, the recipient of two Tony Awards for “Best Score” and “Best Orchestrations,” plus two Drama Desk awards for “Best Music” and “Best Orchestrations.” His other works include Floyd Collins, Love’s Fire, and Saturn Returns/Myths and Hymns.

In this event, Guettel will discuss his writing process and perform selections from his current projects. SCL Member and top composer Chris Hajian will moderate.

The evening will include live performances by Guettel and guests; excerpts from current projects in development; discussion of page-to-stage evolution of new works; and exploration of the craft and inspiration of composing for the theater.
