Heard City — NYC Audio Post Facility Announces 3D Audio Services

Heard City is now among the pioneering audio post-production companies providing virtual reality (VR) audio services.

Quick Lesson: 3D audio involves placement of sound sources anywhere in a perceived 3-dimensional space, including behind, above, or below the listener.

VR provides new ways to tell a visual story and audio perception must follow for a complete experience. Honing 3D audio is a primary focus for Heard City, as mixer and sound designer Cory Mellous states:

“Early exploration in VR only used stereo audio mixes, however, by adding 3D mixing to VR projects, we are heightening the user’s experience and bringing storytelling to new levels. A Flash of Color – Directed by David Mullett, Heard City produced audio for an abstract psychedelic VR work based around an iconic hypnosis script for the color-themed art program “Spectrum” at the Chart Art Fair in Copenhagen.

Barton F. Graf 9000 – Lead by Heard City mixer Evan Mangiamele, audio for VR experiments with the creative agency are being carried out with Heard City as they have a long standing history of work together.
