JZ Microphones Launches J1 – Affordable Condenser Microphone
Microphone manufacturer JZ Microphones would probably never preach style over substance – that said, there’s a uniquely appealing aesthetic to the gear that’s being created by this Latvian outfit.
The latest microphone to come out of ZJ Microphones is the J1, a lower-priced alternative to systems like their well-received Vintage V11. Retailing for a price of $399, the J1 — a carioid condenser model — gives personal studios easier access to a handcrafted JZ mic, crafted under the watchful eye of founder Juris Zarins.
The J1 arrives housed in a flat-shaped, grey body with an included shockmount, and a wire mesh grill covering the Golden Drop capsule and its 21mm active diaphragm of 21MM.
