“JZ Microphones Month” at Alto Music NYC, Through October 31st

They’re coming straight out of Latvia! Now through the end of October is “JZ Microphones Month” at Alto Music NYC.

JZ Microphones is one of the relative newcomers to the audio industry, but they’ve been making a big impact in a short amount of time. Launched in 2007 in Riga, Latvia, by the designer/jeweler Juris Zarins, JZ Microphones draws off his two decades of experience restoring vintage Neumman, AKG, and Telefunken microphones. Following his time helping to create the original BLUE and Violet Design microphone lines, Zarins decided to put his personal stamp on sound and release his own boutique of handcrafted recording microphones.

A plethora of JZ specimens awaits at Alto Music NYC.

Combining patented capsule technology, precise electronics, and an eye-catching industrial design, JZ’s handmade microphones have steadily been gaining a following: High-profile fans include 16-time GRAMMY Award-winner Thom Russo (Eric Clapton, Audioslave, Johnny Cash) and 11-time Grammy-winner Rafa Sardina (Stevie Wonder, Macy Gray, Beyonce).

The entire range of JZ microphones will be available, now through October 31, for demo at the Alto Music NYC showroom. Alto’s Shane Koss (shane@altomusic.com ) will be scheduling appointments to audition JZ units including their Black Hole, Vintage, and the visually stunning BT series microphones. Special deals will also be in the offing for visitors to Alto’s Manhattan showroom.
