The Matt Herskowitz Trio is in the final production stages of their upcoming album Jerusalem Trilogy. They have been in Studio A of Kaleidoscope Sound, recently outfitted with a newly procured 48-channel API console working with producer Daniel Schnyder and engineer Randy Crafton. The trio is: Grammy-nominated virtuoso pianist Matt Herskowitz; drummer David Rozenblatt, who has performed and collaborated with Barry Manilow; and bassist Mat Fields, who performed on Joe Jackson’s Grammy-winning album Symphony. Jerusalem Trilogy revisits the “pianist-composer-improviser” style of the late 19th century, set in a 21st century context. The album is set to drop late spring of 2010 on Justin Time Records.

Post-classical string quartet ETHEL are once again in Studio A at Kaleidoscope working with engineer Crafton on a new album. They were recently featured on the Grammy-winning album Dedicated to You: Kurt Elling Sings the Music of Coltrane and Hartman. They have also had performances with Joe Jackson, along with others including: Bang on a Can, Todd Rundgren, Ursula Oppens, Loudon Wainwright III, STEW, Ensemble Modern, Jill Sobule, Joshua Fried, Iva Bittová, Colin Currie, Thomas Dolby, Steve Coleman, Stephen Gosling, and Polygraph Lounge.

Kaleidoscope Sound also hosted The NYC-based American roots band, Hazmat Modine. The basic tracking for their sophomore album has been completed with the proficiency of producer/engineer Scott Lehrer.
